What is CoffeeVac 250g Coffee Canister for Coffee Beans anyway?

A practical CoffeeVac for fresher coffee storage

The CoffeeVac 250g is designed for about 250g of whole coffee beans. Once a bag is open, an airtight canister with a one-way valve gives your coffee a more consistent storage routine. As a barista, I recommend choosing the size that matches the amount you actually use rather than leaving a large canister half empty.

The lid closes the canister and the one-way valve supports the release of carbon dioxide from freshly roasted beans while limiting new oxygen entering. The canister does not make old coffee fresh again, but it helps protect freshly roasted beans from unnecessary exposure to air, light, moisture and surrounding odours.

How to use it

Take the amount you need, close the lid immediately and store the canister in a cool, dry and dark place at room temperature. Grind only the amount you need for the brew.

Who is this size for?

This model suits a small daily supply, or separate espresso and decaf. If you buy a full kilo and want to keep the original packaging, choose the 1kg CoffeeVac: place the opened bag upright inside, fold the open part inwards, close it with a coffee clip and then close the canister.

Cleaning and care

Empty the canister, wash it with mild soapy water and dry it completely with a clean tea towel. Do not use a dishwasher or microwave. Only refill it when the inside, lid and sealing edge are dry.

What the producer says

TightVac states that CoffeeVac products can keep coffee fresh for up to three times longer than conventional storage containers. This is the manufacturer’s claim, not a fixed freshness guarantee from Eddy’s Coffee. Roast date, correct sizing and closing the lid after every use remain important.

Brazilian Coffee

While flavor profiles vary by region, Brazilian coffee is known for its low acidity, full body, and dark roast , making it the most popular for espresso drinks. Brazilian beans often have flavor notes of caramel, chocolate, nuts, and spices, and are less fruity.

Veelgestelde vragen

What is Specialty Coffee ?

Specialty coffee is coffee of exceptionally high quality, with unique flavors and aromas. It is produced with attention to detail and craftsmanship, from the harvest of the coffee cherries to the roasting and brewing process. It requires carefully selected and processed coffee beans of the highest quality and is often produced by
small-scale producers who focus on sustainability and fair trade.

Can every coffee bean fit without the lid catching?

Bean size and density vary. Treat 250g as a practical capacity, do not force the fill and make sure no bean sits on the sealing edge.

What does the one-way valve do for freshly roasted coffee?

The airtight lid limits new air entering while the one-way valve supports the release of gas from freshly roasted beans.

When is the CoffeeVac Pump a better choice?

Choose the Pump when you work with a small supply and want to remove extra air manually. The standard model is the calmer choice when airtight closing is enough.

Is 250g useful when I alternate espresso and decaf?

Yes. Two small canisters let you keep the coffees separate and avoid reopening a large bag each time.

Can I store an opened 1kg bag in this canister?

Usually not; the packaging is too large. Choose the 1kg CoffeeVac if you want to keep the original bag inside the canister.

How much free space should remain after filling?

A little free space is normal. More important is that the lid closes correctly and the canister is closed after every dose.

Is this size suitable for espresso and filter beans?

Yes. The canister stores whole beans; the later brewing method does not change the storage function.

How do I prevent flavour transfer when changing coffee?

Use one canister per coffee where possible. If you switch, wash it with mild soapy water and dry it completely before refilling.

When is 460g or 500g more practical?

Choose 460g for a slim medium size and 500g when you usually keep about half a kilogram open.
