What is CoffeeVac 1kg Coffee Canister for Coffee Beans anyway?

A practical CoffeeVac for fresher coffee storage

The CoffeeVac 1kg is designed for about 1kg of whole coffee beans. Once a bag is open, an airtight canister with a one-way valve gives your coffee a more consistent storage routine. As a barista, I recommend choosing the size that matches the amount you actually use rather than leaving a large canister half empty.

The lid closes the canister and the one-way valve supports the release of carbon dioxide from freshly roasted beans while limiting new oxygen entering. The canister does not make old coffee fresh again, but it helps protect freshly roasted beans from unnecessary exposure to air, light, moisture and surrounding odours.

How to use it

Take the amount you need, close the lid immediately and store the canister in a cool, dry and dark place at room temperature. Grind only the amount you need for the brew.

Who is this size for?

This model suits a full kilo bag, including the original packaging. If you buy a full kilo and want to keep the original packaging, choose the 1kg CoffeeVac: place the opened bag upright inside, fold the open part inwards, close it with a coffee clip and then close the canister.

Cleaning and care

Empty the canister, wash it with mild soapy water and dry it completely with a clean tea towel. Do not use a dishwasher or microwave. Only refill it when the inside, lid and sealing edge are dry.

What the producer says

TightVac states that CoffeeVac products can keep coffee fresh for up to three times longer than conventional storage containers. This is the manufacturer’s claim, not a fixed freshness guarantee from Eddy’s Coffee. Roast date, correct sizing and closing the lid after every use remain important.

Brazilian Coffee

While flavor profiles vary by region, Brazilian coffee is known for its low acidity, full body, and dark roast , making it the most popular for espresso drinks. Brazilian beans often have flavor notes of caramel, chocolate, nuts, and spices, and are less fruity.

What is Specialty Coffee ?

Specialty coffee is coffee of exceptionally high quality, with unique flavors and aromas. It is produced with attention to detail and craftsmanship, from the harvest of the coffee cherries to the roasting and brewing process. It requires carefully selected and processed coffee beans of the highest quality and is often produced by
small-scale producers who focus on sustainability and fair trade.

How do I use it with a 250g machine reservoir?

Fill the machine reservoir with the amount you need. Then place the opened bag upright inside the CoffeeVac, fold the open part inwards, close it with a coffee clip and close the lid.

Why use a coffee clip inside the 1kg canister?

The clip closes the opened bag before it goes into the canister. This keeps the packaging intact and reduces unnecessary air entering the bag.

Will every kilo bag fit?

The canister is designed for this use, but packaging differs in width and shape. Stand the bag upright, fold the opening neatly and make sure the lid closes without pressure.

What does the one-way valve do with a large supply?

It supports gas escaping while the closed canister limits contact with the surrounding air. Roast date and consumption speed still matter.

When is 880g more sensible?

Choose 880g when you store loose beans and want a more compact size. Choose 1kg when the original bag must fit inside.

Is one large canister suitable for several coffees?

I recommend one coffee per canister. Aromas and coffee oils can remain behind and affect the next coffee.

How do I avoid opening a large canister too often?

Keep the bag inside, close its opening with a coffee clip and take only the daily amount out. Close the CoffeeVac immediately afterwards.

Can I temporarily store a half bag here?

Yes. The canister also suits a partly filled bag. Close the bag well and close the CoffeeVac after each use.

When is the 250g Pump a better alternative?

Choose the Pump for a small supply when you want to remove extra air manually. For a full kilo bag, the 1kg model is the logical choice.
