What is CoffeeVac 880g Coffee Canister for Coffee Beans anyway?

A practical CoffeeVac for fresher coffee storage

The CoffeeVac 880g is designed for about 880g of whole coffee beans. Once a bag is open, an airtight canister with a one-way valve gives your coffee a more consistent storage routine. As a barista, I recommend choosing the size that matches the amount you actually use rather than leaving a large canister half empty.

The lid closes the canister and the one-way valve supports the release of carbon dioxide from freshly roasted beans while limiting new oxygen entering. The canister does not make old coffee fresh again, but it helps protect freshly roasted beans from unnecessary exposure to air, light, moisture and surrounding odours.

How to use it

Take the amount you need, close the lid immediately and store the canister in a cool, dry and dark place at room temperature. Grind only the amount you need for the brew.

Who is this size for?

This model suits a large loose-bean supply for frequent use. If you buy a full kilo and want to keep the original packaging, choose the 1kg CoffeeVac: place the opened bag upright inside, fold the open part inwards, close it with a coffee clip and then close the canister.

Cleaning and care

Empty the canister, wash it with mild soapy water and dry it completely with a clean tea towel. Do not use a dishwasher or microwave. Only refill it when the inside, lid and sealing edge are dry.

What the producer says

TightVac states that CoffeeVac products can keep coffee fresh for up to three times longer than conventional storage containers. This is the manufacturer’s claim, not a fixed freshness guarantee from Eddy’s Coffee. Roast date, correct sizing and closing the lid after every use remain important.

Brazilian Coffee

While flavor profiles vary by region, Brazilian coffee is known for its low acidity, full body, and dark roast , making it the most popular for espresso drinks. Brazilian beans often have flavor notes of caramel, chocolate, nuts, and spices, and are less fruity.

What is Specialty Coffee ?

Specialty coffee is coffee of exceptionally high quality, with unique flavors and aromas. It is produced with attention to detail and craftsmanship, from the harvest of the coffee cherries to the roasting and brewing process. It requires carefully selected and processed coffee beans of the highest quality and is often produced by
small-scale producers who focus on sustainability and fair trade.

Is 880g the same for every coffee?

No. Bean size and density affect the practical amount. Treat the capacity as a guide and never force the lid.

What happens to air if the canister is not full?

A matching size limits unnecessary space, but the canister does not need to be filled to the rim. Close it after every dose.

Why is this size useful in a busy coffee corner?

You can keep a large amount of the same coffee organised without repeatedly opening a soft bag.

What role does the one-way valve play with a large supply?

The closed canister limits contact with the environment and the valve supports gas release from freshly roasted beans.

Is 880g sensible for decaf?

Yes, if you use decaf frequently or brew for several people. For a small decaf supply, 250g is more practical.

Can I combine it with a normal coffee bag?

Yes, for a loose remainder. If the complete bag must stay inside, choose the 1kg CoffeeVac.

How do I make a tall canister easy to use?

Give it a stable place beside the machine and use a dry scoop. A larger size is most useful when you refill it less often.

When is 500g better?

Choose 500g when your supply is around half a kilogram and you prefer a lower, more compact canister.

How do I prepare it for another coffee?

Empty it, wash it with mild soapy water and dry it fully with a clean tea towel before adding the next coffee.
